Traingle: Belur, Halebeedu and Sravanabelagola

Belur, Halebidu and Sravanabelagola are located in Hassan district of Karnataka.

Belur - The Hoysalas architecture is at its best temples in Belur and Halebid near Hassan. Their architecture is ornate and intricately decorative. The temple at Belur took almost 103 years to complete.

Halebidu - Located 16 kms from Belur, Halebidu has temples and palaces that were once part of the Hoysala capital. The main temple is dedicated to Shiva.

Sravanabelagola - Sravanabelagola is a major Jain pilgrim site in Hassan district. 

Ranganathittu  Bird Sanctuary -  The Sanctuary here is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. Birds from Siberia, Australia and even North America can be spotted here on tiny islands in the sanctuary. A ride in the cane boats across the small islands is a great experience. One can see birds at close quarters.

Mysore - Mysore with its magnificent palaces is a beautiful city. Mysore Dasara lends splendor and grandeur to the city. Decorated elephants, illuminated palaces and parades give a peek at royalty of the erstwhile Wodeyars. The main festival is held at the Palace grounds of the Mysore Palace, the earlier residence of the Wodeyars. This palace has an unmatched grandeur.

Brindavan Gardens , KR Sagar Dam - The Brindavan Gardens located at the KR Sagar Dam is one of the best terrace gardens in India.

Srirangapattnam -  Srirangapattnam is located in Mandhya district of Karnataka, just about 13kms from Mysore, on the Bangalore- Mysore Highway.

Mangalore - Mangalore the headquaters of Dakshina Kannada has many beautiful beaches. One should see the Yakshagana performance here. The best season to visit Mangalore is between September and February. Mangalore with narrow winding streets, coconut trees, beaches houses with terracotta tiled roofs, temples and churches is an excellent tourist destination.

Dharmasthala Manjunatha Temple - About 75 kms from Mangalore on the slopes of the Western Ghats is the Manjunatha Temple. The temple is administered by the Heggades, a Jain family.

Kukke Subrahmanya Temple - The Kukke Subrahmanya temple surrounded by rivers, forests and mountains is 104 kms from Mangalore. God Subrahmanya is worshipped as a snake here.

Udipi - Udupi is the headquarters of the Udupi District. It is 50 kms from Mangalore. It is well known for the Krishna temple and Kannada vegetarian cuisine.

Kollur - Kollur is the home of Mookambika temple. Kollur is 135 kms from Mangalore and 80 kms from Udupi.   

Sringeri - Sringeri is a picturesque town on the foot of the Western Ghats in Chikmaglur district. It is on the banks of river Thunga.

Hornadu - Horanadu also in Western Ghats is 100 kms from Chikmagalur and 75 kms from Sringeri. It is located in the midst of thick forests and valleys. 

Hampi - Hampi, a world heritage site, is famous for its ruins belonging to the Vijaynagar empire.

Bijapur  - A land of medieval monuments rich in Islamic architecture, Bijapur once flourished under the Adil Shahi rulers.

Dandeli - Dandeli is poplar for wildlife sanctuary, wildlife tours and white water rafting.
