The country's capital Phnom Penh is renowned for its beauty, particularly the area surrounding the Royal Palace where magnificent Khmer towers share the boulevard with coloured French villas overlooking the banks of the Tonle Sap river.


The glorious and world-famous Angkor Wat situates in Siemreap Province and is just a few kilometers from the town. Temples of Angkor were built between 7th and 11th century during the Khmer civilization.


The huge pyramid of Takeo, and the jungle-clad Ta Prohm, made famous by the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Tomb Raider’, Sras Srang, known as the King's bathing pond, Banteay Kdei, and Prasat Kravan, an elegant brick temple, are historical sites in Angkor Wat. The fortified city of Angkor Thom was built in its present form by Angkor's greatest builder, Jayavarman 7. The city has five monumental gates, one in the north, west and south walls and two in the east wall. The gates, which are 20 meters in height, are decorated on either side of the passageway with stone elephant trunks and crowned by four gargantuan faces of the bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.


The temples of Angkor Thom, is located in the city's geographic centre. The 50-tower temples are an awesome sight.


Rotanakiri is known for its natural beauty and eco-tourism.  Hills, mountains, plateau, watershed lowlands, crater lakes, rivers and waterfalls make this place very interesting. It borders with Vietnam on the east, Laos PDR on the North, Steung Treng on the West and Mondul  Kiri on the South. Sre Pork and Sresan are the two rivers crossing the province.

Banteay Chhmar Temple

Banteay Chhmar dates back from the late 12th to the early 13th century. Banteay Chhmar means “Narrow Fortress”. It is thought to have been built by Jayarvarman II.
